    COSTUMES

A dance troupe started in 1951 – it was based at the Oldham Polish Club at Law Street, only to the latter end and at present is the dance troupe called Podhale Oldham.

The dance troupe had a variety of bright and colourful costumes, However when the dance troupe finally disbanded so did the costumes. Only memories and pictures exists.

July 2003 saw the rebirth of Podhale with members from all over Oldham and surrounding areas. Faced with a challenge and a clean slate we started to rebuild ourselves. With no costumes and only £23 in the bank we soon managed to get peoples support both financially and morally.

We borrowed costumes to perform our first performance at Christmas.

We now have both Krakowskie and Góralskie costumes in our wardrobe, our aim is to have a number of costumes and repertoires.

Podhale Oldham have been entertaining audiences for a good number of years and it  continues to go from one success to another. If you would like us to come and entertain you please do not hesitate to contact us.
